The Queensland HIV Treatment as Prevention (TasP) Roadshow was a series of accredited and catered dinner meetings in 8 locations across Queensland. The meetings provided a unique opportunity for updates on state, national and international policy, program and clinical developments in the rapidly evolving landscape of HIV TasP: early treatment; post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP); and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).
The aim of these consultation meetings was to improve engagement with a broader range of health professionals and HHS executive teams to improve timely access to HIV TasP in Queensland. This included: increasing the percentage of people diagnosed with HIV receiving sustained antiretroviral therapy as soon as possible; improving out-of-hours access to PEP; and improving knowledge on the expansion of the current Queensland PrEP Demonstration Project to a large scale implementation trial.
